FIFA 2018: Cristiano Ronaldo Hat-Trick Holds Spain In 3-3 Shootout

The most awaited match didn’t let down the crowd’s expectation as an absolute blockbuster match was played on the Day 2 of World Cup 2018 on Friday night, between Portugal and Spain at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi, Russia. The all-time hero of the Portugal team Cristiano Ronaldo scored his sixth hat-trick for the national team. He snatched the victory from the Spanish team and ended in a 3-3 tie in the last moments of the game.

Just four minutes into the game, Ronaldo put a shot into frame after Ronaldo tricked the refree into awarding a penalty kick on a non foul from Nacho.

Just after 20 minutes, Diego Costa levelled the goals for his team.

As the scores were level by 1-1, Ronaldo again came up with a straight goal out of an error by the star goal keeper David De Gea, but without taking much time the Spanish side answered with a beautifully executed goal from Costa.

Spain started the second half with the lead, as unstarred Nacho post the ball past the goalkeeper from outside the box.

Sergio Busquets and Bruno Fernandes got into referee’s books and received yellow card.

Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded Budweiser Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance.
